Person-centred care: Following individual care plans and adapting your approach to meet residents' personal preferences, needs and abilities.
-
Dementia and emotional support: Providing reassurance, companionship and compassionate support to residents who may be experiencing confusion, anxiety or distress.
-
Monitoring wellbeing: Observing residents for changes in their physical or emotional condition and promptly reporting concerns to the appropriate senior member of staff.
-
Record keeping: Completing care records accurately and reporting relevant information in accordance with the home's procedures.
-
Safeguarding: Recognising and reporting concerns relating to abuse, neglect, poor practice or residents' safety.
-
Infection prevention and control: Following hand hygiene, PPE and cleaning procedures to maintain a safe environment.
-
Communication and teamwork: Working alongside nurses, senior care staff and other professionals to ensure residents receive consistent, high-quality care.
-
Activities and independence: Encouraging residents to participate in meaningful activities and supporting them to maintain their independence wherever possible.
-
Health and safety: Following workplace policies, maintaining confidentiality and adhering to relevant care standards and procedures.
